WORLD MUSIC

"Music is the Universal Language"

"Music is the Universal Language. I remember hearing that numerous times during my 3 years in the US Navy 7th Fleet Band. I was stationed in Yokosuka, Japan the majority of my 6 year enlistment, and during that time I traveled to over 15 different countries in South East Asia playing music for people.

It was always amazing showing up to a joint rehearsal with a foreign country knowing we did not speak the same language, but we would all sit down and read and play the same music, all of us understanding time, dynamics, rhythm, notation, etc. No matter what country we were from, a quarter note was a quarter note". Music Collaborations

Sarah Reasner and Camellia Akhamie Kies (Cami) began working on music together in April 2020. Cami had the idea to produce an album and quickly realized she was not going to be able to do it on her own. After sending music to a few other vocalist. Cami knew Sarah had the perfect voice to help deliver the "i Choose Love" album.

Sarah and Cami met in 2013 while serving in the United States Navy, they both left the Navy in 2014, but continued to stay in touch. Below you will find a video of Sarah playing "All Glory To You". This is the first song Cami and Sarah wrote and produced together. This song has a wonderful message about letting go and believing that God has broken every chain. Live life free of stress and worry. Walk in peace and faith, knowing God's got your back.

Enjoy. God Bless.

Gratitude Shake || #gratitudeshake

It’s a great day to be grateful!

Cami wrote a song called “Gratitude Shake” to remind herself and others to give thanks in advance for whatever you want to do or achieve in life. Everyday Cami would fill in the blank and claim what she wanted.

"I am so happy and thankful I __________".

Cami started doing this a lot at the beginning of the year 2020; she says the hardest part was continuing to give thanks for what she wanted, when it looked like it wasn’t going to happen.

She remembers running around her house clapping, dancing, and celebrating the release of her first album before she even wrote a single song.  Cami didn’t know how it was going to happen, but she just believed it would. She took action everyday toward her goal.

•She started writing stuff in her Gratitude Journal, which eventually turned into lyrics

•She started trying to create bass lines and melodies.

•She started reading articles and books on how to write music

Cami just took little steps everyday until she reached my goal.

"I am so happy and grateful I completed my first album, and I give ALL the glory to God"!
