Today Camellia is hard at work building her business and taking drumming and DJing to a whole new level. Her creative style has captured the attention of musicians all over the world including bass player Nik West. Camellia uses a hybrid drum set to create the unique sounds and rhythms you find in the majority of her music. She uses the Roland SPD-Sx & SPD- 30 / Octapad to loop and sample original and popular songs. By incorporating acoustic and electronic drums she has been able to sound like a full percussion section alone.
Camellia plays all styles of music, but her most recent focus has been in developing her knowledge in African & Latin rhythms. In recent months Camellia has started to make some positive noise on social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. Last week her @Akhamie.Music Instagram hit 10,000 followers and just last month Camellia did a collaboration with a keyboard player from London named Seyi Ogunnaike. The collaboration was showcased on YouTube and Facebook and received many likes, comments, and shares. In recent months Camellia has also been featured on on several big Instagram accounts like Drum Network Africa, Drum Tacs, and Singular Sound. Keep an eye on her this year, she will be taking us to the next level with her Akhamie music flavor.
